Casita Bolero

Eco-friendly self catering accommodation

Accommodation is for two in a self-catering studio apartment (casita), built above and away from the main house with its own sun terrace and BBQ area. Inside there is an open-plan living/kitchen area with dining table, sofa, cooker and fridge. The sleeping area houses twin beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Guests can use Casa Bolero’s 8m x 4m swimming pool and terrace with outdoor shower throughout the warmer months of the year. Just a short walk from the casita. We also have a one-man kayak for hire, complete with paddle and life jacket—a great fun activity on the lakes just 5km down the road..

Casa Bolero

Situated around 50 minutes inland from Malaga airport, Casa Bolero stands on a hill top above the village of El Chorro. With outstanding panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the ancient Moorish ruins of Bobastro, and on the very edge of the Ardales Nature Park, the casa has a good access track which is part of the National GR7 trekking route across Spain. We are easily reached via the A357 (see map) – a good road from Malaga, turning off at Ardales and following the signs for Bobastro. Directions available when you book

We offer self catering accommodation for 2 people. We recommend the hire of a car for you to fully appreciate the wealth of fascinating places to explore around this area and to give you access to the local bars and restaurants. If it’s just cycling you want, then there are plenty of routes you can start directly from the house, but you’ll need to bring food supplies if you’re not hiring a car. We can pick you up (and your bike) from the airport in Malaga. We have secure storage for bikes. Bike hire also is available.

The Area

Fancy cycling, walking, bird watching, climbing, fishing, swimming, sightseeing or just chilling in some of the most amazing countryside around the Ardales Lakes and Nature Park in Andalucia Southern Spain? The environment offers a great selection of activities to enjoy in amongst the pine clad hillsides and around the beautiful lakes. If you want to explore further, then we ideally situated for you to see the sites in Malaga, Granada, Seville, and Ronda , to name but a few.

There are several very good local bar/restaurants over looking the lakes, and more in the village of El Chorro 4km away.

The environment offers a great selection of superb outdoor experiences, roads that have very little traffic that wind around the pine clad hillsides and beautiful lakes.

Our area is one of the best places to enjoy cycling with its sunshine, maze of tracks and mountain roads, you can see places tourists don’t normally see. The terrain and climate is ideal for improving technique and overall fitness.

Cycling in some of the most amazing countryside around the Ardales Lakes and Nature Park in Andalucia Southern Spain is a holiday you’ll never forget.

We offer a selection of well maintained bikes, including a Specialized Rock Hopper and a Pace (both with front suspension), a Kona, plus a Dawes mountain bike tandem all for off-road riding, a road bike completes those available for hire.
